Former Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege, has issued a stern warning against electoral malpractice ahead of the 2027 general elections, declaring that anyone who attempts to rig the polls will face serious consequences.

Omo-Agege, who is the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for Delta Central Senatorial District, gave the warning during his campaign flag-off in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State.

He insisted that voters would resist any attempt to manipulate the outcome of the elections, declaring that the era of ballot theft should be over.

“It’s rig and die. Anybody who tries to rig the 2027 election will face the consequences. We will not allow anyone to steal our votes,” he said.

The former lawmaker claimed that Nigerians had become more conscious of their electoral rights and were prepared to defend their votes against manipulation.

He also alleged that his campaign, family and supporters had faced intimidation and attacks, calling on security agencies and the international community to monitor political activities in Delta State ahead of the elections.

Omo-Agege expressed confidence that the NDC would defeat the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State in 2027.

He urged supporters to mobilize behind his senatorial ambition and other candidates of the party as political activities gather momentum ahead of the general elections.
