2027 polls: APC women resort to weekly prayer sessions for Tinubu

Ahead of the 2027 general elections, a group of women in the all Progressives Congress (APC) under the aegis of The Tinubu Torchbearers (TTB) have concluded arrangements to be organizing weekly prayer sessions to solicit the face of God for the reelection of President Bola Tinubu.
National Women Leader of the APC, Dr. Mary Allie Idele revealed this on Tuesday during the official commissioning of the TTB National Secretariait, located in the highbrow Asokoro area in Abuja.
In her address, Dr. Idele said the occasion marks another significant milestone in the collective commitment of the party faithful to deepening grassroots mobilization, strengthening political engagement, and advancing the ideals of the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Tinubu administration.
“Distinguished guests, one of the key activities that will take place at this Secretariat is the organization of weekly intercessory prayers for our nation and for the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu throughout the campaign period and beyond.
“These prayer sessions will be led by Ordained Female Ministers, (OFM) Royal Sisters, prayer networks, and the Northern Muslim Women Assembly (NMWA). This spiritual engagement reflects our collective belief that while strategies and policies are important, divine guidance and support remain essential for national progress and success”.
She further disclosed that with the successful inauguration of the National Secretariait of the TTB, in the coming days the activities of the group would be activated in all the 774 local government areas of the country.
“Following that national inauguration, our State Coordinators proceeded to exchange the Torch of Renewed Hope across all Local Government Areas within their respective states, covering the 36 states of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory. Furthermore, Zonal Coordinators, Deputy Zonal Coordinators, and National Officers—including the National Coordinator, National Organising Secretary, and other key officials—have all hit the ground running, demonstrating uncommon dedication and commitment to the movement.
“Today, I am pleased to announce that all 774 Local Government Coordinators have successfully exchanged the torchlight with the 8,809 Ward Coordinators across Nigeria. This extraordinary achievement reflects the strength, structure, and reach of the Tinubu Torchbearers movement”.
The APC Women Leader added that the TTB secretariat will serve as the operational hub of the Tinubu Torchbearers movement from across the country.
“The commissioning of this National Secretariat is therefore both symbolic and strategic. This Secretariat will serve as the operational hub of the Tinubu Torchbearers movement nationwide. It will coordinate, administer, monitor, and drive the activities of TTB across all levels of engagement”.
She also urged the party faithful to always focus on the grassroots in their quest to convince the people why they should give Resident Tinubu the opportunity to return to office.
“We must continue to oil the grassroots. The people must see the light. They must hear the message. They must understand the achievements. They must become active participants in the Renewed Hope journey. Most importantly, they must deliver overwhelming support for the vision of a better Nigeria.
“Beyond campaign activities, the Women Situation Room will serve as a strategic election-monitoring and coordination centre capable of tracking developments across Nigeria’s 176,846 polling units. Detailed information regarding this initiative will be formally forwarded to Your Excellency’s office for further consideration and engagement”.
