The newly confirmed Labour Party (LP) governorship candidate for Taraba State, Mr. Nathan Sanda, has declared that the state’s future is too important to be left in the hands of career politicians who view public office as a lifelong profession.
Sanda made the assertion over the weekend immediately following his official ratification as the party’s flagbearer for the upcoming 2027 gubernatorial election. He issued a strong call to action, urging the citizens of Taraba to step up and actively take charge of their political destiny.
Addressing party faithful and supporters, Sanda argued that meaningful socio-economic progress will remain elusive unless everyday residents play a decisive role in shaping governance.
He criticized professional politicians who treat leadership as personal property rather than a platform for public good.
According to Sanda, politics must transition from an avenue for personal enrichment and permanent political relevance into an era defined by selfless service.
“Hold the bull by the horns and play a decisive role in determining the direction of governance in Taraba,” Sanda charged the electorate.
“The people must take their destiny into their own hands. Politics is an opportunity for us to serve our people, not a career path for individuals seeking personal gain.”
The LP candidate challenged Taraba residents to break away from political apathy, become more politically conscious, and aggressively demand accountability from their elected leaders.
He emphasized that the state’s path to genuine development relies entirely on a new leadership model anchored by openness in government dealings and budget implementations.
Sanda concluded by promising that his candidacy under the Labour Party will offer a paradigm shift, focusing entirely on sustainable development and grassroots empowerment rather than the conventional political patronage that has historically stalled the state’s growth.
