2027: There are only two political parties in Nigeria – Gov. Uzodinma

Ahead of the next general elections in 2027, the All Progressives Congress (APC), has boasted that they are not bothered about the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition, because there are only two political parties in the country.

Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF) and governor of Imo state, Sen. Hope Uzodinma made the claim at the National Secretariait of the party on Tuesday while inspecting the e-registration data center.

“You called it a claim, it is their claim, not our claim. I know that there are only two parties in Nigeria, the All Progressive Congress and others, we are not bothered because we know we are on the right path.

“President Bola Tinubu is fulfilling his electoral promises and already the country has started feeling the effects of the Renewed Hope Agenda”.

Uzodinma who was accompanied on the visit by Governor Usman Ododo of Kogi state said they were on the working visit on the directive of President Bola Tinubu.

However, the governor who said they were impressed with the level of work at the data center also said that the idea of a new National Secretariait for the party was still in progress.

“We are here on a walking visit. We came to monitor and evaluate the extent of the e-registration exercise, what has been done and we have inspected and conducted a trip round the facilities and we are highly impressed with what we saw and also confident that any moment from now our e-registration exercise will start in full force.

The PGF Chairman equally expressed his confidence that the National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda will lead the party to the path of victory.

“What are we expecting with the new National chairman? Look at him here, this handsome tall man, full of energy and intelligence. I think our party we are very excited and happy with the choice of our new National Chairman and we are confident that this is what we are looking for”.

In his remarks, the governor of Kogi state, Usman Ododo assured that the party stakeholders are working as a team under the leadership of President Tinubu.

Responding, the National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda said he was impressed with the cordial working relationship that exists in the party, a reason the party is becoming very attractive to members of the opposition.

Yilwatda added that the objective of the ruling party is not only to deepen democracy, but also to improve on its efforts to deepen technology, a development he assured will always help the party to do self assessment at all times.

“You can see it, very cordial, very much so, we are exemplary. When it comes to APC, we are exemplary and you can see it in the way we conduct ourselves in the NEC, you can see how the Governors are relating with the party, you can see how the members are relating with the party, how we have made this party attractive to the people, attractive to the nation, attractive also to the Governors also.

“So we are deepening our relationship every day and on this illustration, we are a leading party by far compared to any other political party and we want to ensure that we deepen technology, we ensure that we lead in all respects, in all ramifications and technology is one aspect that we are doing, so that we are leading also in that same respect, ensuring that we know the number of people are part of our own political party.

“We can actually know people who are going to vote for us, we can predict the number of people that are supporting us and deepen our base also in each state. This is what we are doing, it will help us in research, it will help us in deepening technology, it will help our relationship in providing support for our members also at all levels”, the National Chairman concluded.
