2027: Tinubu will only lose on social media, not at polls – Gov Sani

Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu would only lose the 2027 presidential election if voting were conducted on social media platforms.
Sani made the remark during an interview on Channels Television, monitored in Abuja where he spoke on the prospects of the president ahead of the next general elections.
According to him, Tinubu remains strongly positioned to secure victory through the conventional voting system at polling units across the country.
He argued that while social media may reflect a different narrative, it does not necessarily translate to electoral outcomes at the grassroots.
“If elections are conducted on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram, he may lose, but with actual voting at polling units, he will win convincingly,” the governor said, projecting a significant margin for the president.
Sani’s comments come amid ongoing political debates on the influence of online popularity in Nigeria’s electoral process.
Former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, had garnered widespread support on social media before and after the 2023 elections, a trend that continues to shape political discourse.
