3 children stolen from Bauchi, sold in Anambra reunited with their families

Three children stolen from Bauchi State have been reunited with their parents by the Bauchi  State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed.

The children, who were stolen from Bauchi and sold in Anambra by unscrupulous individuals, were safely returned through collaborative efforts.

The governor commended efforts of the Anambra State Governor with his wife, the Bauchi and Anambra State Police Commands for their efforts and resilience which led to the recovery of the abducted children.

Governor Bala expressed shock over the discovery that children were abducted from Bauchi and then trafficked and sold in Anambra states.

The governor urged parents to remain vigilant and attentive to the well-being of their children as a fundamental responsibility pledged to take decisive legal action against the arrested suspects.

He assured that the Bauchi State government would take the necessary legal steps to ensure that the suspects are brought to justice and face the full consequences of the law.

Governor Bala said Government will sponsor a bill to the State House of Assembly to ensure that henceforth details of all tenants shall be documented.

He directed  the State Anthony General to write an Executive bill to that effect before sponsoring the bill.

Governor Bala praised the security agencies, as well as the First Ladies of Bauchi and Anambra States, for their crucial roles in tackling such criminal acts.

Addressing parents, Governor Mohammed urged them to remain vigilant and ensure the proper upbringing and monitoring of their children.

He called on community leaders to supervise and monitor residents in their localities to prevent future occurrences.

Reiterating the importance of justice, Governor Mohammed stressed that justice delayed is justice denied, directing that perpetrators be dealt with decisively according to the law.

During the formal handover at the State Commissioner of Police,  Auwal Musa Mohammed, briefed the Governor on the successful rescue operation.

He narrated the joint efforts of the Bauchi and Anambra State Police commands, working in close coordination with the Office of the State First Lady under the Gender-Based Violence Committee.

The Bauchi First Lady, Hajiya Aisha Bala Mohammed commended Governor Bala Mohammed for his unwavering support in combating child abuse, abduction, and trafficking.

Aisha emphasized that Governor Bala’s commitment has been instrumental in the success of various initiatives led by the committee.

Parents of the abducted children expressed gratitude to the Governor for his effort in rescuing and returning the stolen children back home.
