The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Abuja, Prof. Abdulrasheed Na’Allah, has disclosed that 40 students of the Institution have graduated with 1st Class.
He said a total of 7,128 students graduated from the school.
He also revealed that 474 students graduated with 2nd class upper, adding that 944 students got 2nd class lower.
Na’Allah, who made the disclosure while presenting his address during the 27th convocation ceremony on Saturday, further pointed out that 174 students came out with the 3rd class while one student got pass.
He then revealed that the National Universities Commission (NUC) had approved 26 new Academic Programmes from the 2022/2023 Academic Session.
The new courses approved for the University include; BSc. Strategic Communication, BSc. Development and Communication Studies, BSc. Film and Multimedia Studies, BSc. Public Relations, BSc. Information and Media Studies, BSc. Geology and Mining, Doctor of Pharmacy, B.ENG. Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering and B.ENG. Architecture.
Others are; BSc. Journalism and Media Studies, BSc. Industrial Design, B.ENG. Agricultural Engineering, BSc. Tourism and Hospitality Management, BNSC. Nursing and BMLS Medical Laboratory Science among others.
Na’Allah said: “I am happy to tell you that in this convocation we will have 100 PhD students graduating from different disciplines, we have 326 Masters students from different areas, Master of Science, Master of Arts.
“For provisional Masters, we have 346 graduating from Professional Master’s degree and then undergraduate students, we have a total of 7,128 students who are graduating”.
