7 Feared killed in multiple attacks on Benue communities

At least seven persons have been reportedly feared killed in separate attacks on communities in Logo local government area of Benue State by suspected armed herdsmen.
Chairman of Logo LGA, Rev. Jonathan Adagbe, who confirmed this on phone to newsmen on Friday, said the attacks took place on Tuesday and Wednesday respectively.
He said: “On Tuesday, two(2)persons were killed while on Wednesday evening, five persons were killed in Yongia Ukambie Tiev, Ukembrergya/Tswarev ward, intimating that it was carried out by the herdsmen.
“Even when I went there, they were still grazing on the other side of the road, claiming that it is Taraba state. No one could just approach them.
“ I’m even now in Makurdi, I reported the incident to the Special Adviser on Internal Affairs Security, Chief Joseph Har Special Adviser, Bureau for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, DSS and Permanent Secretary on Bureau of Internal Services.”
However, it was gathered that about 15 persons were allegedly killed by suspected herders in Apete, Ijaha, Ochumekwu and Inyapu communities in Apa local government area of the State.
According to some locals who pleaded anonymity, five persons were killed on Tuesday, while two deaths were recorded on Wednesday and eight on Thursday.
