The #BringBackOurGirls (BBOG) group had stated that the group will neither sue the President, Goodluck Jonathan nor the CAN President, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor over the $9.3m arms deal.
The advocacy group stated this yesterday, saying that it was a false report attributed to it in one of the National Dailies, and wondered where the paper got its story from.
It also emphasised that the BBOG sit-out was an avenue where people come out to speak on their anger and frustration on what is happening in the country and added that individual statement should not be attributed to the group.
A member of the group, Dino Melaye added that the BBOG was not a registered group and there was no way it could sue anyone and pleaded with the media to get their facts correct before putting out things in the media.
“The BBOG is not a registered body so we cannot sue anybody. The story was attributed to an anonymous source. We need to ask the media to tell us where they got that story from,” he said.
The group, which stated that its planned symposium for the Day 170 was not feasible as the key people to give the speech were not available, however stated that it will address the press on its stand on the abducted Chibok girls who had stayed on the hands of the Boko Haram for 170 days.
