Hajj 2017 : Jigawa medical team treats 2,300 pilgrims

No fewer than 2,300 Jigawa state pilgrims were treated on various diseases within three weeks, by the Jigawa state medical team during this year\’s hajj exercise.
The medical team leader for the Jigawa state 2017 hajj exercise Doctor Ibrahim Mika\’il, drop the hint yesterday while speaking to our reporter in Makkah city of Saudi Arabia.
He explained that, from the commencement of 2017 hajj exercise, his team succeeded in successful treatment of over 2,300 patients right from Madina, three days in Minna,Musdalifah, Arafat and Makkah.
ccording to him, thirty six patients were transferred to National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON)\’s hospital while three pilgrims were transferred to King Abdul\’Aziz International hospital in Saudi.
Doctor Mika\’il maintained that, though the total number of Jigawa pilgrims is 1,476 but some pilgrims were treated more one time on various diseases.
The team leader further explained that, most of the pilgrims suffered from Catarrh, fever and ulcer which was caused due to weather change in the area.
He said, the 36 cases that transferred to NAHCON and King Abdul’Aziz hospitals include Fracture, sickle cell diseases among other diseases.
Doctor Mika’il also advised the pilgrims on how to select the type of foods to be use as well as the importance of keeping their environment hygienic while in Saudi to avoid outbreak of such diseases.
He then, commended Jigawa state government and the state governor in particular for providing all the necessary support to his team for successful operation.
