Fulani group: Blame FG, states, LGs for endless clashes in communities

Khautal Hore Fulani Association has attributed the frequent clash between Fulani herdsmen and farmers in communities to failure of Government at all levels to provide sufficient grazing reserves.
The Bauchi state chapter of the association Mohammed Hussaini stated this yesterday while speaking to newsmen in Bauchi yesterday, said the association is disturbed over the endless clashes between herdsmen and farmers which “I believe it was a failure from government at all levels”
Mohammed said the Fulani’s who are peace loving community were being neglected by the government.
“ Lack of sufficient grazing reserves in all states of the federation are some of the major causes often led the clashes between Fulani community and other tribes, with a call on the national assembly to pass the grazing reserves bill.” he said
He maintained that Fulani’s are the major contributors of the nation’s economy particularly in the areas of revenue generation and livestock production hence the need for the government to protect their interest.
Hussaini, however, appealed to Federal Government to as a matter of urgency to provide grazing reserves and ensure full protection of Fulani community from frequent attacks by other tribes, for peace to reign in the country.
The state chairman expressed worry on how some disgruntled elements who disguise as Fulani to foment trouble, pointing out that the situation required though investigation by the authority, regretted that cattle rustling, and kidnapping of Fulani’s are the major threats being confronted by the community.
He therefore complained bitterly over non government support and provision of essential basic needs to Fulani communities such Agricultural art dams, vaccination of their animals, farm implements among others.
