Kogi: Audu’s vacuum difficult to fill – Son

Date:

From Ahmad Ibrahim, Lokoja

The eldest son of the former governor of Kogi State, late Prince Abubakar Audu, Alhaji Mohammed Audu has observed that the vacuum left by the political Icon would extremely be difficult to fill.
Alhaji Audu stated this in Ogbonicha in Ofu local government area of the state while speaking to newsmen shortly after a special prayer to commemorate the second anniversary of the demise of late Prince Abubakar Audu.
He said his father was a selfless leader who lived and died for his people, serving them with utmost dedication with passion, thereby contributing in no small ways towards their well fare.
He further pointed out that the numerous projects embarked upon by the former governor, especially in education, health, economic sectors among others, while piloting the affairs of the state, have direct
impact on the lives of the people.
He, therefore, stressed the need for the people of the state to continue to imbibe the virtue of selflessness, development and generosity the former governor was known for, urging them to work collectively for the socio-economic progress of the state.
The son of late Prince Audu who described as devastating, the sudden passing way of his father to his immediate family and political loyalists, posited that what had happened was a temporary setback,
expressing confidence that there shall be light at the end of the tunnel.
He, therefore, enjoined the entire Audu Political Family and those who firmly believe in the ideals of his father to continue to intensify with prayers, stressing that he strongly believed that the state shall rise again after the calamity that befell it following the demise of the former governor.
Mohammed equally called on the present administration in the state to strive in meeting the basic needs of the people, whom he noted, are seriously suffering, even as he maintained that things are generally no longer smooth in view of lean financial resources.
He commended President Muhammadu Buhari for his concerted efforts in taking the country to another level of development, describing him as a leader who is passionate about his people.
