From Lawal Sa’idu Funtua Katsina

Governor Aminu Masari of Katsina State has warned people of the state to desist from exhibiting violent conduct while expressing their grievances.
Masari gave the warning yesterday in Katsina during the endorsement of President Muhammdu Buhari and Governor Aminu Masari for second term in 2019 organized by Gwagware Foundation.
He said, ‘’we are human beings who can be right and can make mistakes; I wants to advise people to desist from violent protest. If we do something, people have the right to react but that should be done in accordance with the provisions of the law.
‘’Never allow security agents to arrest you for burning tyres on the road or in possession of weapons in the name of protest against our decisions,’’ he added.
The governor said that people should come and demand for explanations on whatever the government did, adding that whatever they do they may have reasons for doing such things.
Masari further said that the government would construct a Public Square to allow people to come and express their views.
Our correspondent observed that the governor gave the warning in response to a demonstration on Monday by a group of persons in Batsari local government protesting the perceived imposition of a local government caretaker chairman on them.
