As part of its human capital development, communities under OML 30 with Heritage Energy Operational Service Limited NPDC, and shoreline in Delta State, have agreed to empower 15, 000 persons in its skill acquisition programme in the next three months.
The chairman of the OML30 Communities Development Board, Morison Idiovwa told journalists yesterday in Asaba that the skills acquisition programme will commence in Ughelli, adding that beneficiaries were drawn from 111 communities of OML30 where heritage operational services limited, and NPDC are operating.
He said: “this is the time when opportunities are limited, and it causes some forms of agitation which could lead to restiveness and create the enabling environment for our people” and urged the participants to key into the programme.
He however appealed to the community leaders to support, and allow the participants to enjoy the month stipend that would be given to them adding: “we must stop the habit of collecting the stipends from participants because it is their benefits”.
The participants, according to him, will be engaged in different fields of training including Barbing, Tilling, Crane operator, POP, Scaffolding among others.
