Phoenix FC leads Abuja Super Four League champions

Phoenix Football Academy has emerged champions of the Abuja Super Four League which was concluded recently.
In the last match of the six-club league, Phoenix FC defeated Moyours FC 1-0 to top the league standings with 13 points ahead of their closest rival, Moyours FC who ended settled for a second place finish with 12 points.
The league which was put together by the coaches of the participating clubs was aimed at bring the kids together to play a high profile match in order to encourage them to build their confidence and match fitness.
The winner was presented with a giant trophy and medals while the runner up went home with medals.
Speaking in an interview after the match, captain of the winning team, Aron Samuel said the league is all about experience and commended the coaches for the effort. “The league is all about experience. One thing is certain in life, there must be a winner and we are happy. The league was wonderful, we won some matches and lost some too but it is wonderful.”
A parent, who watched the final match, Aina Boluwatife, described the Super Four League as excellent and praised Phoenix FC management for doing a great job in nurturing the kids in football.
“My son is part of under 6 team of Phoenix Football Academy. Phoenix is always on the social media particularly on Instagram. That was where I saw their pictures and had to bring my kid here.
“The coaches here are excellent; they care about the players and team members. They invest their time to develop the children; they teach them the skills to be better football players.
“Football academy is good for the development of a child because it helps them develop skills, work together as a team, develop discipline and resilience so that when they think they are down, they have to get up for the team. They learn how to push even when they are tired.
“Phoenix Football Academy is probably the best academy in Abuja and that is because it is always packed. They keep growing every week because they are doing a great job. The coaches know football well and they understand the children and know how to coach them both in and out of the field.
“I watch my son play. Every single game they play, I will be in the field to watch him. They won their game by 3-0 recently and some of us the parents who are around had to get them pizza to cheer them up for their victory.
“Phoenix Football Academy is doing well but I believe they need sponsors. With sponsors on their side, the management of the academy will transform it to the best in the world,” she said
Six teams, Phoenix FC, Moyours FC, Rising Star FC, Eagle’s Wing FC, Diamond FC and Stallion FC took part in the league.
Meanwhile the organizers of the Abuja Super Four League have announced a one week Summer Tournament for Under 13 players in the FCT.
A member of the organizing team, Coach Udechi Emmanuel said in the tournament will kick off from July 20 to 27.
