Seven killed in fresh Plateau attack

No fewer than seven persons were killed between Gero village and Dadinkowa community of Jos south local government area of Plateau state.

Following the killing of the seven persons yesterday, there was destruction and smashing of cars on the Yakubu Gowan expressway and tension in Dadinkowa community of Jos South local government area of Plateau state.

The seven people killed were said to have been members of Dadin Kowa and left home on Sunday morning to a nearby bush to get bamboo but could not return home.

Idris Bello who is the Muslim Youth Leader of Dadin Kowa community confirmed the killing of the seven persons, adding that all the deceased were shot and their bodies had been taken to Jos Plateau Hospital.

He said, “Seven of our brothers were found killed between Gero and Dadin Kowa. We went to the area where they were killed together with men of the STF and took corpses to Jos Plateau Hospital.”

The Youth leader gave the names of the deceased as: Sama’ila Ibrahim (19), Hassan Abdullahi(20), Sharkulu Yakubu (20) and Haruna Adamu.

Others are; Sabiu Ahmad (18), Sulaiman Adamu (19) and Aliyu Yusuf (22).

When contacted, the spokesperson of the Special Task Force on the incident, Captain Salisu Mustafa, confirmed the killing of the seven persons, adding that the situation in Dadin Kowa had been brought under control by STF personnel.

Mustafa added that investigation was going on to ensure that the perpetrators were brought to book.
