From Ahmad Mohammed Bauchi
Bauchi State Police Command has denied the report that one person died in Boi in Bogoro Local Government Area of State during the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primaries.
Two of the contestants, Professor Muhammad Ali Pate, and Dr Yakubu Lame, had
alleged on Monday night during a press conference at the secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalist NUJ, Bauchi that one person was killed in Boi, Bogoro Local Government Area of the state.
When contacted by reporters earlier on Monday, Police Public
Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, DSP Kamal Datti Abubakar, said
the command was not aware of any report of loss of life and promised
to investigate.
But speaking with our correspondent by telephone on Wednesday, the Police Spokesman said that investigation by the police indicate that there
was not death in any part of the state during the APC governorship
primaries.
Datti Abubakar said the police investigated the alleged killing in Boi and found out that it was untrue.
The PPRO challenged journalists in the state to carry out independent
investigation to verify the position of the police and dismiss the
report of loss of a life.
