No death recorded in Bauchi APC guber primaries- Police

Bauchi State Police Command has denied the report  that one person died in Boi in Bogoro Local Government Area of State  during the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship  primaries.

Two of the contestants, Professor Muhammad  Ali Pate, and Dr Yakubu Lame, had

alleged on Monday night during a press conference at the secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalist NUJ, Bauchi that one person was killed in Boi, Bogoro Local Government Area of the state.

When contacted by reporters earlier on Monday, Police Public

Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, DSP Kamal Datti Abubakar, said

the command was not aware of any report of loss of life and promised

to investigate.

But speaking with our correspondent by telephone on Wednesday, the Police Spokesman said that investigation by the police indicate that there

was not death in any part of the state during the APC governorship

primaries.

Datti Abubakar said the police investigated the alleged killing in Boi and found out that it was untrue.

The PPRO challenged journalists in the state to carry out independent

investigation to verify the position of the police and dismiss the

report of loss of a life.
