Atiku’s candidature wouldn’t disturb us, says Adamawa APC govt

Date:

From Umar Dankano,Yola

The Adamawa State government has said that the emergence of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar as the presidential flag bearer of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will never change their loyalty to the candidature of President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress (APC).
It declared unflinching support and loyalty to All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2019 presidential election.
State Commissioner of Information and Strategy, Mr Sajoh Ahmed gave the position of the government in Yola Monday at a press conference, condemning an alleged crafted blackmail by elements who are planning to design a poster pairing Governor Jibrilla with ‘the presidential candidate of another party.
The ploy, Sajoh stated, is a hatched attempt to tarnish the image of the Governor, describing the act as wicked .
“Governor Jibrilla is an APC governor working for APC, and has no intention to support or canvass support for any presidential candidate outside APC.
He has no support for any candidate other than Buhari,” he asserted.
He added that anybody who prints any document to portray anything to the contrary should be disregarded.
“Governor Jibrilla has no intention, discussion or contemplating in any way whatsoever to support any other candidate or any other political party or parties except President Muhammadu Buhari,” he maintained .
The commissioner, who did not mention Atiku’s name in his initial address, submitted at the question and answer session of the press conference that Atiku as an Adamawa man winning the presidential ticket of a major opposition party was ‘a factor’ but that Governor Jibrilla already had the candidate of his party and that he would always choose reality rather than promises.
Mr. Sajoh Ahmed stated with emphasis that Buhari had done enough for Adamawa State since he became president to make the people prefer him to any other candidate.
He called on losers in the just concluded governorship primary election to support the candidature of Governor Jibrilla to ensure victory for the party in the 2019 general elections.
