FUDMA VC Unveils 80-Seater CNG Bus For Inter-campus Transportation

The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University Dutsin-Ma (FUDMA), Prof. M. K. Othman has commissioned an 80- seater Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) bus acquired to enhance smooth, safe, and affordable transportation for students and staff of the university.

The bus, acquired as part of the 2021 TETFund Intervention under the Needs Assessment Funds Project, is expected to contribute significantly to transporting staff and students between the two campuses of the university.

Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, the Vice Chancellor described the initiative “as part of the University’s commitment to improving the welfare and general well-being of its students and staff”.

He noted that “providing efficient transportation would make movement easier, more convenient and affordable for members of the University community.”

Prof. Othman further stated that the initiative aligns with his administration’s agenda of making life easier and more affordable for students and staff while creating an enabling environment for teaching, learning, and other university activities.

He expressed appreciation to TETFund for the intervention and reaffirmed “the University’s commitment to judiciously utilize” such facilities for the benefit of the university community.

The CNG-powered bus is expected to strengthen the university’s transportation system and provide a more efficient mobility option for students and staff.
