A group, Linking the Youth of Nigeria through Exchange (LYNX) in conjunction with the Committee for the Defence of the Children (CDC), has called on the Kaduna state government to ensure full implement of child right law otherwise known as ‘ Child Protection and Welfare.
They made this call in Kaduna during an interactive session with the Commissioner for Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development yesterday.
While lauding the Kaduna state government for the domestication of the ‘Child Right Law’, the groups said the law will serve as a tool for the protection of the children in Kaduna State.
“We recognized the efforts of the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, Technical Working Group on Child Right Act, related stakeholders who advocated for the bill to be passed into law”, Usman Garba Dogo said.
Dogo who is the CDC president further requested for the formation of the Kaduna Children’s Parliament to help facilitated the full implementation of the law in the state.
In her response, the commissioner, Hajia Hafsat Baba reiterated the commitment of the Kaduna state government towards ensuring that the rights of every child are well protected in the state.
