Five million members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), in other wards known as Shiite, has adopted the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), General John Gbor (rtd), as their candidate in the February 16 presidential election.
Speaking during their visit at the National Campaign office of the candidate in Abuja, the leadership of the Shiite, who spoke through its Secretary General, Amir Sadiq Abubakar, promised that the five million Shiite members will give him their block votes in the presidential elections.
He said the present government takes them as slaves and does not recorgnise them, adding that they do not want to fight anybody, but want to engage an army general who knows how to resolve problem to defeat the incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari.
In his response, General Gbor, who cautioned them that he will not allow any religious group to kill others in the name of sacrificing to their gods, or infringe on other peoples right of worship, said his leadership of the country will uphold the constitution at all time.
The APGA presidential candidate however said he will not disobey court rulings irrespective of how painful it is, adding that Buhari government has created serious poverty among the Nigerian people.
While pointing out that he has what it takes to rescue Nigerians, Gbor said those that will taste the bitter pill of his government are those that will instigate violence in the name of religion, emphasizing “I am tougher than Trump”.
According to him, the Nigeria has become the poverty capital of the world according to available date because the Buhari government has failed in allowing the resources to trickle down the lane, adding that his government will embark on fiscal restructuring and economic deregulation to allow private sector manage the economy while the government regulates.
