2019 elections: INEC to adopt harmonized balloting

Date:

From Uche Uche, Damaturu

In its effort to ensure a free, fair and credible election in the coming 2019 general elections in the country, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has made some adjustments to enhance the conduct of the elections.
One of the adjustments includes the adoption of a harmonized voting method in which a registered voter would be accredited and allowed to vote at the same time instead of the previous method of being first accredited and going back, only to come back after some hours to now cast vote.
Yobe state Resident Electoral Commissioner, Ahmad Makama, disclosed this yesterday during a mind rubbing meeting with political stakeholders, representatives of political parties, and other bodies that includes the women group, chairman of crippled association and that of people living with disabilities, which took place at INEC office in Damaturu, the state capital.
