A non-governmental organisation (NGO) committed to stamping out social vices in society, the Anti-Kidnapping, Human Trafficking, Child Abuse and Drug Abuse Initiative (AKH-TRACADA), has commended the Nigerian military, Nigeria Police Force and Department of State Services (DSS) for their collaborative efforts that led to the rescue of 20 prospective National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members and others in Imo State.

In a press statement released in Abuja on Friday and signed by the Founder/National Coordinator of AKH-TRACADA, Primate Belonwu Ezeanyaeche, the organisation described the operation as a welcome development and a source of relief to the rescued corps members, their families and the entire nation.

The statement also called for an investigation into claims circulating on social media that ransom was paid before the release of the kidnapped victims.
