The senator representing Kano South Senatorial District, Senator Kabiru Ibrahim Gaya has begun the training of one hundred science teachers from his constituency to meet up with the current global Science and Technology knowledge.
The training commenced at the weekend in Scientific Equipment Development Institute (SEDI) Minna consisting of 60 science teachers for the second face after 40 first beneficiaries from the institute bringing the total to 100 teachers from about 16 local governments in the constituency that is almost like a state in some regions in Nigeria considering its volumes.
Managing Director/ CEO of SEDI, Professor Mohammed B. Ndaliman at the inauguration of the second set of science teachers said that the trainees are to transfer their knowledge gained to be impacted on to the students in their various secondary schools which he described as a wise investment by the senator that is not visible.
Prof. Ndaliman applauded the efforts of the Lawmaker by fulfilling his promised while assuring that on the part of the institute would also delivered as required the science kits consisting of science apparatus at the end of the training.
According to him, this gesture will go a long way to ease teaching and learning by science students and teachers because the thinking is exermined and practically tested, while he advocated for the proper Technology in the country as a whole, noted that certificate will be issued to the participants at the end of the training.
In his remarks, SEDI Director of Administration, Dr Geoge Ebele urged the participants to pay serious attention to everything they are touched by the trainers so ad to go home full of knowledge acquired.
