NUJ hails appointment of member as District Head

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Sokoto State Council, has congratulated one of its member, Alhaji Hayatu Jibo Dallatu, on his appointment as the new District Head of Tudun Wada, Sokoto.

Dallatu is among the eight District Heads recently appointed by the  Governor of Sokoto State, Dr. Ahmed Aliyu.

In a statement jointly signed by the Chairman and Secretary of the Council, Usman Mohammed Binji and Muhammad Nasir Bello, the NUJ described the appointment as a significant recognition of the experience, character and contributions of the appointees to society.

The Council said it was particularly delighted that one of its members has been entrusted with such an important traditional responsibility, adding that the appointment reflects the confidence placed in his capacity to serve his community with humility, wisdom and dedication.

According to the statement, Alhaji Dallatu is an experienced journalist and media administrator who has served with distinction in Rima Television Sokoto, Voice of Nigeria (VON) and currently as General Manager of Alu FM Sokoto.

The NUJ noted that beyond his professional accomplishments, Dallatu is widely known among colleagues and associates for his humility, generosity, accessibility and cordial relationship with people.

These qualities, the Council said, coupled with his understanding of society and years of experience in journalism, place him in a strong position to contribute meaningfully in his new traditional role.

The Union expressed confidence that his understanding of community affairs and experience in communicating with people will enable him to promote peace, unity, dialogue, mutual understanding and peaceful coexistence among the people of Tudun Wada.

The NUJ also congratulated the other seven newly appointed District Heads and wished them success in their new responsibilities, while commending Governor Aliyu for appointing them.
