Xenophobic attack: Another 314 Nigerians return from South Africa

Another batch of Nigerians who have volunteered to return to Nigeria following Xenophobic attacks, have arrived Lagos from South Africa on board an Air Peace plane from O.R. Tambo International Airport, Johannesburg.
314 out of the 319 returnees who were expected to arrive on Tuesday and the Head of Immigration and Consular Matters at Nigeria’s Consulate General in Johannesburg, Mr. Anthony Ogbe, had boarded the Air Peace flight and left South Africa around 3:00 pm on Wednesday.
aThey arrived at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport around 7:20 pm yesterday.
“We wish to inform that the 2nd Batch of about 319 willing Nigerian returnees from South Africa has departed O. R. Tambo International Airport Johannesburg, South Africa today 18th September, 2019 at 14h58 local time.
“The returnees whom were airlifted by Air Peace Airline are expected to arrive Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos today 18th September, 2019 at about 18h58 local time,” spokesman to the Foreign Affairs Ministry, Kimiebi Ebienfa had stated yesterday.
Recall that the 319 returnees expected on Tuesday could not takeoff because of flight delay arising from the airline not obtaining a landing permit on time.
Of the 319, four passengers were later dropped over documentation issues.
A first batch of 187 Nigerians had been voluntarily evacuated and profiled according to their states.
