Lassa fever: Kebbi govt confirms 2 cases

Kebbi State government has confirmed two cases of Lassa fever out of twelve suspected cases from January 2020 to date.
This was disclosed yesterday by the state Epidemiologist, Dr ,Assad Hassan during an exclusive interview with Radio Nigeria in Birnin kebbi, adding that the two patients are from Kalgo and Birnin kebbi Local Government Areas of the state while nine of them tested negative and one still awaiting result.
He said that there is no cause for alarm as the disease is curable and the state government has provided all the necessary support to hospitals for effective service delivery.
Dr, Hassan further called on the good people of kebbi State to ensure they always visit the nearest health facility in case of any symptom not only Lassa fever.
He advised people to desist from eating rodents as they are one of the major causes of the virus.
