Pulse.com has reported that Rihanna has won a 10 million dollars from a lawsuit against her former accountant, Peter Gounis of Berdon LLP after she claimed he was the main reason she went bankrupt in 2009.

The Barbadian singer, real name Robyn Fenty, sued Gounis and the firm Berdon LLP, claiming they advised her to buy a $7.5 million house in Southern California in 2009 despite the fact they were fully aware she was running low on funds.

She added that the accountant advised her to make bad financial decisions which made her lose $9 million out of $11 million in just one year.

The 25 year old however was forced to sell the trouble-ridden mansion last year despite making a loss of about $2 million. She complained in an earlier lawsuit that the Beverly Hills mansion turned out to be rotting from water and mold damage and she had to spend over a million dollars in repairs.

Rihanna’s lawyer, Edward Estrada, wrote: “The defendants advised Ms. Fenty by e-mail that purchasing a home in Los Angeles would be a good investment despite knowing Ms. Fenty was experiencing financial difficulties”.

RiRi also claimed that it was her accountant’s fault for failing to warn her that her ‘Last Girl on Earth’ tour would not turn a profit.

She fired Berdon LLP in 2010 and sued him for $35 million in 2012 but according to New York Post, “it’s understood the firm has settled with the pop star out of court for around $10 million” with papers due to be signed this week.
