The Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom, HRM Dr Emmanuel Sideso, Abe 1, has urged his subjects to sustain the prevailing peace and unity in the kingdom.
The Ovie made the call on his proclamation on report of a committee he set up on delineation of the etches (traditional administrative units) of Alegbo, Ogbe, Erovie and Ugboroke in the kingdom at the weekend
Shortly before the proclamation, Abe 1 recalled that on ascension to the throne 13 years ago, owing to the rapid growth and size of the area, he promised to create additional administrative units.
He therefore explained that the new five additional units were created for administrative purpose after due consultation with the people of the affected areas and approval from Delta State Government
“The traditional administrative units were not created to dispossess you of your lands or ancestral homes, “he said.
While stating that lands in Uvwie Kingdom were held in trust by him, he declared that lands in the area were owned by families.
He therefore frowned at those whom he accused of misconstruing the purpose of setting up the committee.
