Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, has congratulated renowned politician and statesman, Chief Ighoyota Amori, on his 69th birth anniversary.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Olisa Ifeajika, on Monday in Asaba, the governor noted that Amori, an accomplished leader and statesman, had contributed immensely to the growth and unity of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and development of Delta.
He commended the gifted politician fondly known as“Odidimadi’’ in political circle, for his keen efforts at bridge-building and described him as “a great political strategist” whose passion for uplifting his Urhobo people of Delta Central Senatorial District was unparalleled.
The governor recalled Amori’s contributions to the development of Delta through his services as Commissioner for Education; Water Resources; Senior Political Adviser, Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District and currently, Chairman, Asaba Capital Territory Development Agency.
He said: “As an astute chieftain of our party, PDP, you have remained a great mentor to many members and we appreciate you for your profound and infectious loyalty to the party.
“On behalf of the government and people of Delta, I heartily rejoice with a great leader and statesman, a reputable and reliable political ally, Chief Ighoyota Amori, JP, as he celebrates his 69th birth anniversary.
“I am pleased to join your family, political associates and other well-wishers in thanking God for blessing you with strength and wisdom to serve the people of Delta and Nigeria.”
