The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has mourned the death of former Military Administration of Oyo state, former sole administrator of Ekiti state and its 2011 governorship candidate in Ogun state, General Tunji Olurin (rtd).
The party, in a statement yesterday by its National Publicity Secretary, Mr Kola Ologbondiyan, described Gen. Olurin as a courageous and disciplined military officer, excellent administrator and dynamic democrat, who gave his skills, energy and resources towards the unity, stability and development of our nation.
According to the statement, “Our party recalls how, as military administrator of Oyo and later as sole administrator of Ekiti state, Gen. Olurin exerted himself in instilling policies and reforms that enhanced productivity, good governance and transparency in the administration of the respective states.
“As the governorship candidate of the PDP in the 2011 governorship election in Ogun state, Gen. Olurin’s acceptability and popularity among the people; arising from his well-known dedication to duty, sense of humility and love for humanity came to the fore.
