The Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN) in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT ) 2, Abuja Branch under the leadership of Mr. Agbo Emmanuel on Saturday conferred merit awards on the Commanding Officer 176 Guards Battalion Gwagwalada, Lt. colonel J.K. Adisa, the commander Nigeria Customs Training and Doctrine command in Gwagwalada, DCG Mohammed B. Boyi, the Second Class Chief of Kwali (Etsu Kwali) Dr Audu Shaban Nizazo lll, the Gwagwalada Divisional Police Officer (DPO) CSP Tersoo Tele and the Treasurer of Gwagwalada Area Council, Alhaji Yahuza D. Musa among other fourteen personalities.
Then nineteen personalities were honoured by the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria during the 2021 Annual Dinner / Award Night and launching of Maiden Magazine which was organized by the accountants with the theme “Road Map to Economic Recovery: The Accountant’s View”.
In the speech at the occasion, the Chairman of the occasion, Hon. Abdulrahman Ajiya who is also the Chairman of Abaji Area Council, congratulated those who were honoured today to put in their best.
Ajiya, who is the Patron of ANAN FCT 2 said : “The Palace of the Professional Accountant therefore, becomes so pertinent due to the larger roles we are expected to play as advisory services to the people, policy formulators, business model enunciators for recovery of moribund and ailing businesses and its multiplier effects on the economy”.
In his welcome address, the Chairman of ANAN FCT 2 Branch, Mr. Agbo Emmanuel said: “A typical Professional Accountant is at a dilemma of fulfilling the professional calling while balancing at the same time the wheel of family and social compatibility”.
While fielding questions from newsmen, the FCT ANAN Chairman said the awards were bestowed on the dignitaries based on their outstanding contributions in our society.
Presenting a paper tagged “Roadmap to Economic Recovery: The Accountant’s View”, the guest lecturer of the event, Prof. Success Musa, urged the government at all levels to focus more on Nigerian economy than the global economic issues for the sake of Nigerians.
Speaking on the 2023 General Election, Musa called on the professional accountants and other professionals to participate in politics in order to pave the way for sustainable economic recovery in the country.
