Gombe Govt to curb bullying in schools

Gombe State Government says it has taken proactive measures to end bullying in all public schools across the state.

Mr Dauda Batari, the state Commissioner for Education, said this  in Gombe.

He said that the measures were taken to protect the mental and psychological wellbeing of all students.

According to him, bullying is a problem that can have impact on the physical and psychological health of victims, thereby affecting their performance in school.

“I want to assure you that we will redouble efforts to ensure that what is happening in other states did not happen in Gombe.

“We will continue to do the needful to protect our children from external and internal aggression by defending the life of every child,” he said.

According to the commissioner, the government has also taken measures to ensure the safety of students while in school.
