YODMA signs pact with LifeBank on medical facilities

Yobe State Drugs and Medical Consumables Agency (YODMA) has signed pact with LifeBank for the digitisation of its supply chain.

LifeBank, is a health-tech startup that provides hospitals with access to safe and quality medical supplies; (blood, oxygen and medical consumables).

The event which took place on Thursday, the 27th of January, 2022 in Abuja Nigeria, formalizes the relationship between both parties to build a long-term partnership that will bring innovation to the last mile in the North East.

Established in 2020, the YODMA was created to procure drugs and medical consumables for onward sales and distribution to healthcare centres across the state.

Since its establishment, it has increased the quality of healthcare available in Yobe state with other states in the region studying and replicating the model.

Under the agreement with YODMA, LifeBank will bring its expertise in deploying technology and mobility solutions in 12 cities across Africa to improve the agency’s distribution model and response time.

Its goal will be to ensure that YODMA can distribute supplies faster and safer powered by improved technology that ensured that there is no stock out of medicines and supplies in the health care centres and last mile delivery in the state.

Speaking at the signing of the MoU, LifeBank Founder and CEO, Temie Giwa Tubosun noted; “We are very excited about this partnership, it gives us an opportunity to use our tech and innovation to strengthen healthcare centres in the North. This ensures no one dies as a result of unavailability of medicine and hospital supplies, we look forward to deploying our expertise to help YODMA achieve its goal”.

Also, at the signing of the MOU was the Country Manager, LIfeBank Nigeria, Ugochukwu Obiakor who described this as a strategic partnership – “I see this a strategic partnership that will benefit the people of Yobe state and show LifeBank’s mission to drive impact.”

The signing ceremony had in attendance the Commissioner for Health, Yobe state, Dr Muhammed Lawan Gana who signed on behalf of the Agency, Pharm Abdul-Aziz Mohammed, Executive Secretary YODMA, Chief Executive Ocer, Africa Resource Centre for Excellence in Supply Chain Management, Azuka Okeke, the Legal Adviser, Yobe State Ministry of Health, Dr Abiodun Oyenuga, Senior Program Manager PPP, Africa Resource Centre for Excellence in Supply Chain Management, Dr Stephanie Fowler, Program Manager, Private Sector Partnerships and representatives of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and Federal Ministry of Health.
