Ex-Kaduna Governor, Ramalan joins senatorial race
Former Kaduna State Governor, Dr Mukhtar Ramalan Yero, has formally announced his decision to contest for Kaduna North Senatorial District seat in the forthcoming general elections.
Ramalan will contest for the Senate seat under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a statement on Friday, the former governor said he has accepted the overwhelming calls, encouragement, and expressions of confidence from the good people of the senatorial district to contest for the position.
“Today, I had the honour of receiving the Local Government Chairmen from my Senatorial District, who paid me a solidarity visit and unanimously endorsed my candidacy. This demonstration of unity, trust, and shared purpose is not taken lightly. It is a responsibility I accept with sincerity, humility, and a firm commitment to the service of our people,” he stated.
He therefore said he has accepted “to answer this noble call to service” by contesting for the Senate seat.
“As we embark on this journey, I call on all stakeholders, party members, and the good people of our Senatorial District to remain united, peaceful, and focused on the collective good of our communities. Together, with faith, dedication, and a shared vision, we shall work towards a more prosperous and inclusive future for Kaduna North.”
Ramalan appreciated the local chairmen and the entire people of Kaduna North Senatorial District for believing in him.
He expressed gratitude to Governor Uba Sani for his leadership and continued commitment to the progress and unity of Kaduna state.
He however said, “Leadership, as we know, is a trust (Amanah), and Allah (SWT) grants power to whom He wills and at the time He wills. I pray that He guides us, strengthens our intentions, and grants us the wisdom to serve with justice, fairness, and compassion.”
