Kano state governor, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has commiserated with the families of the six Islamic clerics, who died in a ghastly accident on Wednesday while returning from Da’awah, Islamic preaching in Sumaila Local Government area of the state.

“The death of these gentlemen is not only a great loss to their families, but to the state as a whole. It was a real tragedy,” Ganduje said in a statement by Abba Anwar, his Chief Press Secretary, yesterday.

“We learned that, the Clerics, under the leadership of one Sheikh Alkassim Zakariyya, went on a tour under Imam Malik Islamic Foundation.

“Our dear state lost people of substance who are God fearing like Sheikh Alkassim, Malam Isiya Tela, Mustapha Musa Sa’ad, Malam Ishaq Rummawa, Malam Zakariyya Alkassim Dataka. May Allah forgive them,” he prayed.

“On behalf of the government and people of Kano state I am extending our condolences to their families, Imam Malik Islamic Foundation and their friends for the great loss. 

“May Allah forgive all their shortcomings and reward their good deeds with Jannatul Fiddaus,” he said.
