The Director General of Standard Organization of Nigeria (SON) Malam Faruk Salim has said that his agency will use all available techniques to boost local production by uplifting Nigerian industries to prosper.

Salim stated this during an inspection visit to some indigenous companies In Kano state.

He said the administration of President Mohammadu Buhari is working assiduously in ensuring that Nigerian industries are being supported.

According to him, the support by the Buhari administration comes through either technical aspect or adequate orientation to achieve the desired goal, especially in the aspect of standardization of the made-in-Nigeria products.

The Director-General maintained that SON is proud of indigenous companies for recording major boost in rice milling, thereby providing job opportunities that are in line with the Buhari-led administration’s economic policies.

Salim urged the indigenous industries to emulate the zeal and dedication of rice milling companies in Kano state with the aid of producing standard products that can be retailed within the country and abroad.

Speaking while being conducted round by the chairman of Alwabeel Rice Milling Company, the Director General commended the efforts of the company for producing high-grade processed rice which, according to him,  could be compared with every foreign rice available in the market.

Earlier, the chairman of Alwabeel Milling Company, Alhaji Imran applauded the efforts of SON for the support it renders to indigenous companies, stressing that the gesture helps the companies to be up to standard.

Meanwhile, the Director General paid a working visit to Ultra Agro companies,  which specializes in making agro products.

He expressed his satisfaction with the standardization of their products, urging the management to utilize the opportunity of the new training center by sending their personnel to acquire more experience.

The DG also expressed delight with the level of standardization of the products made by AMMASCO Internationa Limited, calling on other indigenous companies to emulate the techniques of uplifting the standard of the products for economic development of the nation.

Peopels Daily reports that during the inspection tour, the DG visited a host of rice milling, Agro-allied, and Lubricants companies in Kano.
