Governor Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger state has presented the staff of office to new Emir of Kontagora Alhaji Mu’azu Muhammadu Barau the second as the Sarkin Sudan of Kontagora.
The governor officially presented the staff of office to the Emir at the coronation ceremony in Kontagora to become the seventh Sarkin Sudan at the age of forty nine.
The Governor described Sarkin Sudan as a gentle, compassionate, humble man full of perseverance and faith in the will of God, while he expressed optimism that the new Emir will provide needed leadership that would propel development to the Emirate.
The Sultan of Sokoto and President General Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar advised the new Sarkin Sudan of Kontagora to be just and fair to his subjects in addition to operating an open door policy to give his subjects a sense of belonging.
In his acceptance speech the seventh Sarkin Sudan of Kontagora Alhaji Muhammadu Barau Muazu the second appreciated Governor Abubakar Sani Bello for his support towards the success of the event and promised to stand by his subject to succeed.
The Chief Judge of the State, Justice Halima Ibrahim Abdulmalik administered the oath of office and allegiance to the new Sarkin Sudan of Kontagora which was supervised by the Governor.
