Wike, Enenche to bag honorary doctorate degrees at Benue Varsity

Benue State University, BSU is to confer Honorary degrees on Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike as well as founder Dunamis Church Pastor Paul Eneche.
The Vice Chancellor of the institution Prof. Tor Iorapuu who disclosed this while briefing newsmen as part of activities to mark its 18th,19th,20th and 21st combined convocation and 30th anniversary of the University said the Chancellor of BSU, King Disreal Gbobo Bob-Manuel II will be honored with Doctor of Laws (D. LL), Honoris Causa; Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike would bag Doctor of Laws (D. LL), Honoris Causa while the Senior Pastor, Dunamis Gospel Church International, Dr Pastor Paul Enenche will bag the Doctor of Divinity (D. Div), Honoris Causa.
The others are; Chief Christopher Chuka Edordu, OON will be coffered with Doctor of Commerce (D. Com), Honoris Causa and Prince Engr. Arthur Eze, OFR would receive the Doctor of Business Administration (DBA), Honoris Causa.
He also disclosed that the University will confer degrees on a total of 23,060 graduands in varied categories on Saturday 18th February,2023.
Vice Chancellor of BSU, Professor Tor Iorapuu, made this known on Thursday at the Pre-Convocation Press Briefing of the 18th, 19th, 20th and 21st Combined Convocation Ceremonies and the 30th Anniversary Celebration of Benue State University.
He said, “At this Combined Convocation Ceremonies, the University will be conferring a total of 23,060 degrees and diplomas on graduands in the following categories: Bachelor’s Degrees -20815, Postgraduate Diplomas -494, Master’s Degrees-1605 and PhD Degree-146
Iorapuu noted that out of 20815 graduands with Bachelors’ degrees, 63 of them earned First Class while prizes will be awarded to deserving students.
He further intimated that the combined convocation tagged,“BSU at 30: Boundless Years of Academic Growth,” would deliberately remind staff and students of the humble beginning in 1992/93 academic session with a population of 308 students and 149 academic staff which has now grown to a huge student population of over 23,000 students with over 2000 staff.
The vice chancellor added that the university has enjoyed over N2billion intervention funds/projects by the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND) even as many staff are on TETFUND scholarship within and outside Nigeria pursuing various degree programmes with some on post doctoral research.
