Doko Community begs Gov. Bago for urgent intervention in land crisis

Doko Progressive Forum of Lavun local government area has appealed to the Niger State governor Mohammed Umar Bago to urgently intervene in the land crisis rocking the community over the years.
This was contained in a statement signed by the forum’s President, Colonel Jiya Mahmud Liman (Retired).
He said the state government should urgently call both parties in the conflict to order for sustainable peace in the land.
The statement also begged for speedy delivery of judgement in all pending matters by the state judiciary, adding that to dispute has crippled economic activities of the people in the community.
A statement issued to newsmen in Minna, said the dethronement of the then Etsu Dazhi Doko (Village Head of Doko) Alhaji Muhammadu Gana Kpanje in 2013 and the newly appointed late Alhaji Muhammadu Santali Dazhi kept the crises deteriorating.
He also explained that due to the crisis majority of farmers could not go to their farms, hence the need for urgent palliatives for about two thousand households to avoid impending hunger in the area.
