The Governor of Kano state, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf has expressed concerns over the current economic challenges faced by Nigerians, including his state.

The governor therefore revealed that he would personally meet President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to report to him, the economic situation people of Kano are facing in order to provide succour to them.

Speaking during a meeting with the state’s business community at the government house on Monday, Yusuf lamented how prices of commodities are skyrocketing at the expense of the common man.

According to him, the prices of commodities, especially food prices have thrown people into hunger,  posing serious challenge to poor and civil servants in the state.

“A measure of even local rice is now sold at N3000 while the 50kg bag is over N60,000. A measure of maize is N1500 while the bag is over N50,000
