Federal Commissioner makes case for Gbangadna indigenes

A Federal Commissioner representing the FCT at the public complaints commission Abuja, Mr. Ezekiel Dalhatu, has appealed to the Administration of Gwagwalada Area Council to allocate a piece of land to the Indigenes of Gbangadna Community now Sabon Gari to enable them settling in one place.
Dalhatu, who made the appeal while presenting a paper as the guest speaker during the 30 years anniversary celebration of the Village Head of Gbangadna, Alhaji Yunusa Aliyu on Saturday in Gwagwalada.
The Federal Commissioner, however, emphasised that there was a need for Gwari in Gbangadna community to change the name of Sabon Gari to Gbangadna.
Speaking at the occasion, the Chairman of Gwagwalada Area Council, Hon. Abubakar Jibrin Giri, said his administration would continue to support the Gbangadna Chiefdom.
Also speaking, the Chairman of Kwali Area Council, Hon. Danladi Chiya, used the occasion to advise the entire Gwari in Gwagwalada to always speak their native language with their children, instead of speaking Hausa with them.
Not left out, the Village Head of Gbangada now Sabon Gari in Gwagwalada, Alhaji Yunusa Aliyu, thanked the people who graced the occasion.
Etsu Aliyu words: “Gbangadna (Sabon Gari) community was founded in the late 17th century by the elder Dakuci and his two younger brothers Kpengo and Zaiynaknado including Ali, Zniribwa and others who migrated from Kyamkpa Knuknu to Tsuatsuayi now Checheyi and from Tsuatsuayi to Gbangadna”.
