First Lady’s RHI trains 42 women on ICT

The First Lady of Nigeria, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu has commenced training for 42 women entrepreneurs in the North-West zone under the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) Women in Tech Training.
While addressing the participants in Kaduna yesterday, the Nigerian First Lady stated that the training will equip women with the necessary skills to compete favorably in the technical world.
The First Lady who was represented by Kaduna State First Lady, Hafsat Uba Sani, informed that the training which is in partnership with Huawei corroborates the sustainable development goal 5 seeks to achieve gender equality, full participation of women, and equal opportunities for leadership at all levels.
Hafsat Uba Sani represented by the Kaduna State Commissioner for Women Affairs, Hajiya Rabi Salisu, stressed that Women’s empowerment is fundamental for the development and growth of every society, and no individual was raised by a woman.
According to her by empowering women, the country unlocks the unique creativity and innovation that can enrich every aspect of lives.
“It is well documented that when we provide equal access to education resources and opportunities, that it becomes the architect of positive change, changing the trajectory of economic progress, social harmony, and sustainable development.”
While congratulating the beneficiaries of the training, Sen. Oluremi urged the participants to reaffirm their commitment to creating a world where every woman has the opportunity to thrive and use technology as a catalyst for positive change.
Emphasizing the significance of the training the Lead Coordinator and Facilitator, Women in Tech Training Chinedu Ogbeide said Gender equality and women’s leadership in technology, highlighted the alignment of the initiative with Sustainable Development Goal 5.
Chinedu Ogbeide who is also Executive Director of Sapphital Learning Limited described the Huawei Women in Tech Digital Training program as a catalyst for bridging the gender gap in the digital realm, offering participants a pathway to competitiveness and innovation.
