Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has praised President Bola Tinubu for his intervention in the political crisis that rocked the state, describing him as a true statesman whose actions helped sustain his administration.
Fubara said the President’s intervention, advice and conciliatory approach played a significant role in restoring peace and political stability in Rivers State.
The governor spoke on Saturday during the flag-off of the All Progressives Congress South-South campaign for Tinubu’s re-election in Port Harcourt.
He said Tinubu’s intervention had enabled his administration to remain focused on delivering its promises to the people despite the political crisis.
Fubara said, “With the interest, advice and conciliatory roles played by the President, the government in the state has remained focused to deliver on its promises to the people.”
He also commended Tinubu for appointing indigenes of the South-South region to strategic positions in his administration.
The governor further pledged to mobilise three million votes for Tinubu in the January 2027 presidential election.
He disclosed that the APC and the Peoples Democratic Party were working together under a rainbow coalition in Rivers State to secure victory for the President.
Fubara urged political stakeholders in the state to support the President’s re-election bid, expressing confidence in the coalition’s ability to deliver the promised votes.
