Bandits kill Labor Party ward chair in Benue

A Labour Party, LP, ward chairman in Ado local government Area of Benue State, Mr. Sunday Oche has been reportedly shot dead by bandits.
Oche who is the Igumale ward 1 chairman of the party, was said to have gone to the farm in company of his friends when they were ambushed by the bandits.
Our reporter gathered that the bandits shot and killed the LP chairman while five others escaped with serious gun injuries.
A source close to the deceased who spoke on condition of anonymity, told journalists that, Oche went to the farm in company of five(5))others on motorcycles.
He explained that they went to assist a widow in her farm and after closing for the day, on their way the gunmen barricaded the road and opened fire on them, leading to the death of the party chairman.
“Those people who went to the farm with the chairman came home with serious injures, saying that they were attacked by bandits who also took their two (2) motorcycles.
When contacted the Benue State Command Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) SP Catherine Anene said she was unaware of the incident.
