Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Barrister Ezenwo Nyesom Wike has ordered the immediate demolition of illegal structures at the Sabon Lugbe South District Layout in the FCT.
The FCT Minister gave the order yesterday when he paid an unscheduled visit to the site of the illegal structures at Sabon Lugbe in company of the Heads of the various Security Agencies in the FCT.
Wike reiterated that buildings without proper documents from the FCT Administration will be demolished, describing the developers as land grabbers.
He said the structures were built without the approval of the Development Control Department, which is in contravention of the land use provision of the FCT.
He adds: “You can see they are all land grabbers without documents and we are not going to allow that.”
According a statement from Assistant Director, Press, (Office of the Hon. Minister), Rabi Musa Umar, the minister also directed the Director, the Department of Development Control, Town Planner Mukhtar Galadima to liaise with the various security agencies in the demolition of the illegal structures and recovery of the land.
He noted that the security personnel will arrest anyone who obstructs the demolition exercise.

  1. Illegal and they were all allowed to build to the point they finished the building? Why demolish them when the subscribers went through known deveolpers? Why not hold the developers and the Director of the building control unit for allowing a building to get to this stage without approval? This is really sad
