The Peoples Democratic Party’s National Reconciliation Committee, set up to reconcile aggrieved members of the party, said on Tuesday that it has resolved the differences between members of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party.
The disclosure was made after a meeting between the reconciliation committee and NWC members at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja.
The NWC of the PDP, it will be recalled, was factionalised two weeks ago, following the suspension and counter-suspension of some of national officers of the party.
However, the PDP National Reconciliation Committee met with members of the NWC for over four hours. during which all the national officers of the party were in attendance.
The Chairman of the committee and former Governor of Osun state, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola while speaking with Journalists at the end of the meeting, said the crisis has been successfully resolved.
According to Oyinlola, “we have been able to resolve the differences that have been causing our party some headaches within the National Working Committee.”
He explained that the party now has a united NWC, adding however that the committee did not discuss the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, which is expected to hold on Thursday.
