Police nab 7 member syndicate vandalizing NNPC pipelines in Adamawa

A gang of Seven (7), suspected to be a criminal syndicate vandalizing critical infrastructural facilities especially NNPC pipelines have been apprehended by the police in Adamawa state.
Image maker of the State Command,S.P Suleiman Nguroje disclosed the arrest in a press release issued weekend saying that the arrest was made possible following an intelligence information from a Good Samaritan.
Nguroje said based on the intelligence report received that a tip off operation conducted by police operatives on the 25th October, 2024 led to the arrest of the suspects.
Nguroje disclosed that, Fifty three (53) pieces of vandalized pipelines believe to be linking Adamawa and southern part of the country were recovered.
“The Adamawa State Police Command in its effort to ensure public safety and security have on the 25/10/2024 apprehended seven(7), who intentionally conspired, destroyed and stole pipeline belonging to NNPC.
“This distressing incident poses a substantial threat to public safety and represents a severe act of economic sabotage as it pertains to a crucial infrastructure linking the Adamawa and Southern part of the country.
“The case has been meticulously documented for a comprehensive investigation, and measures are underway to apprehend their collaborators who are operating along with them from behind the scene.
“The Commissioner of Police CP Dankombo Morris urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to law enforcement agencies”.The release maintained.
