The All Progressives Congress (APC) Northwest Youth Leader, Abdulhamid Umar Muhd, has commended Senator Barau Jibrin, the Deputy President of the Senate, for his recent donation of 1,000 motorcycles to the Kano State Police.
The initiative was to bolster the Police Force’s ability to maintain law and order, particularly in the northern parts of the state.
Muh’d described the donation as a positive and timely intervention that reflects Senator Barau’s commitment to improving security and fostering greater community-police relations.
He emphasized that the motorcycles would not only enhance the mobility of officers but also ensure a more responsive and efficient security apparatus capable of addressing emerging challenges in the region.
“This gesture is a clear demonstration of Senator Barau’s dedication to the welfare of the people of Kano State. By improving the mobility of the police, this initiative will play a crucial role in maintaining peace and preventing crime, particularly in hard-to-reach areas,” Muhd stated.
The APC Youth Leader pointed out that while such donations could improve operational capacity, it was also important for the public to recognize the broader implications of such efforts. He stressed that the donation would not solve security issues in isolation but must be complemented by sustained investments in policing, intelligence gathering, and community engagement.
Muhd also called on other political leaders and stakeholders to support the security forces by providing the necessary resources to enhance their operational efficiency. He noted that communities must collaborate with law enforcement agencies to ensure the success of security initiatives and to build a safer environment for all.
